What is the best/easiest way to ship something that someone bought from you on eBay?

  • I'm going to use eBay as a seller for the first time, and I don't really know how to handle shipping something. How do I know how much it costs to ship? Who should I ship it through? Any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Ship via USPS flat-rate boxes only, ship to US address only, and accept PayPal only. By using flat-rate boxes, it takes all of the guess work out of shipping weight as long as it fits in one of their boxes. You can order the boxes for free from http://ebaysupplies.usps.com/ and they will be mailed to you. Depending on what you're selling, you'll get questions about shipping to Canada and various countries, but it usually isn't worth the hassle. With PayPal, you can securely receive payment and print a postage-paid mailing label in one shot. Use transparent packing tape to stick it on the box, throw in some crumped newspaper, and you can drop it off at any post office.

If your items are letter size,eg, use an envelope. Be sure to only charge Up to  $1. I don't believe that I've ever used a flat-rate box. I find boxes at work and use them. You can save money, if selling books for example; if you ship them via MEDIA Mail. Video games can also be shipped Media Mail, but... Most times it is cheaper to send 1st class.  I am redbarchettadrive (828) on eBay. I bought a 5 boxes of 100 9x12 manilla envelopes off of ebay cheap and I cut them into six squares and I tape them up and I get 6 small  4x4 packets to ship my small items in. Usually costs from .88 to $1.71.
