Which video games that are available on both consoles and PC are best played on the PC?
-
I've heard that games like are more fun/better when played on a computer as opposed to a console. What are some other games that are available in all formats but most enjoyable on PC?

Answer:
Whenever you have a choice between PC and console, you should always choose PC. Bad console ports are more or less a thing of the (recent) past. If you want to play a PC game on a TV screen with a console controller, you can do so easily. The social and achievement features common on Xbox Live and Playstation Network are replicated by Steam and other networks. PC hardware has advanced far past the demands of games. You can easily build a PC for less than $1,000 that can run any modern game at max settings or close to it and have it last without major upgrades for years. Some common franchises that are better on PC: Anything from Valve (Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life) Anything Bioware (Mass Effect, Dragon Age) Anything Bethesda (Fallout, Elder Scrolls) Assassin's Creed GTA games (extreme view distances!) Blizzard only makes games for Mac and PC. Typically, the major difference between console and PC ports are graphics. PC games will just about always look superior, especially as the current console generation ages. Certain franchises also tend to build up huge mod communities, which can keep a game fresh for much longer.

The Orange Box is probably one of the games with the biggest differences between console and PC. The Orange Box has received numerous updates and fixes since it was released, all for free (Including Team Fortress 2 now becoming free). For other games, it really depends on the community, if the game has the ability to be modded, and if you have a 'jailbroken' console. I wish I got GTA IV for the PC instead of for the PS3 after seeing some the mods. Even though I like to play FPS on the computer, I find that playing the Call of Duty on PSN is a much better experience.

I think that pretty much any 1st person shooter plays better on a PC, where the mouse is a much more accurate device for aiming then the console controllers are. Also, the whole RTS genre is effectively limited to the PC - there have been a few console attempts, but nothing worthwhile - and certainly no Starcraft II. Sports and Driving games tend to be better on consoles I find, where as just about everything else is better on PC.

GTA games ,Assassins creed games and role playing games like mass effect and dragon age are far better on PC than consoles. When it comes to graphics , PC games are always superior than consoles

Most games are better off being bought on the PC, due to cheaper prices (especially with services like Steam selling games for up to 90% off), mods, better controls, and online (you can host your own servers for most games!). http://freevideogames4you.weebly.com/
