What are some good French, Italian or Spanish songs to cover with my guitar?

My top recommendation for the french category: Voyeur (version acoustique) by Dany Bédar. I don't think there's a youtube video of the acoustic version but I can send the MP3 via e-mail (I have a copy of his entire "Acoustique...en studio" album). The original version is on youtube but the acoustique version is way better. The acoustic version of his Y'a du monde (Only the original version is available on youtube) is also a good candidate. Among the ones available on youtube, my top recommendation goes to Papa by Ben Mazué: Other suggestions: Je t'aimais, je t'aime, je t'aimerai by Francis Cabrel, but I'm posting a cover: La vie simplement by Mickael Miro Fréro Delavega (of The Voice : La plus belle voix) Gerald de Palmas - Sur la route (acoustique) Jonatan Cerrada - Pas le temps (version acoustique) XXL - Mylene Farmer's original version is upbeat pop but Jonatan Cerrada made an acoustic version (because of this, I imagine that Larousso's On ne s'aimera plus jamais can have a good acoustic version): Any song by Renan Luce. I suggest "Je l'aime à mourir" by Francis Cabrel Shakira covered it in spanish, so you can practice it in two languages. That's a classic song every French has listened billion times, and above all, that's a beautifully written song.

Québec has a strong folk music tradition that has led to lots of modern singer-songwriters who do pieces that rely heavily on guitar, especially acoustic guitar, so it's a great place to look for pieces that will inspire you. (Note if you are working on your French as well as your guitar playing: The accent of QC is somewhat different from France's accent.) "Autumn Leaves" was originally written in French, plus it's easily adaptable to a number of styles, and a good introduction to playing jazz.
