What is the difference between M.Tech and M.S?

I've just completed my diploma in Computer Science and I've got selected by Wipro under the SIM Program (the same as WASE Program). They are providing me an MS (5 Year) Degree from BITS-Pilani. So my question is: Should I go with Wipro or not? What is the difference between MS and MTech?

    Your question can not be understood by other people except Employees of Wipro as they have an idea about SIM & WASE Programmes. I could help you somewhat as I worked for Wipro and had friends who were WASEisans.But I can not help you in deciding between MS and MTech. WASE stands for Wipro Academy for Software Excellence. Under this, Graduate people of any discipline are selected through campus interviews and offered Masters degree with BITS-Pilani along with a job offer. It differs from a regular degree as it is for 4 years as compared to 2 or 3 years in regular. Apart from working on weekdays, WASEian are required to attend weekend classes and regular examination during this 4 years period. Your compensation is fixed for these 4 years. It is an unique programme by Wipro and advantageous for the students (WASEians) because by the end of 4 years you would be having an MS degree along with 4 years of work experience.

I have not heard about SIM Program , you said it is like wase than its fine to join wipro .The only drawback is 5 year bond and after that you can get many opportunities .Difference between MS and MTech according to me these are post graduation degree name like we have BTech or BE they both are same .

U can join in Wipro  but the thing is u should stay in Wipro for 5 years till the completion of the wase program. U can also leave early by paying some amount around 1 lakh  if u are leaving early. But my suggestion is to join. Good luck :)

This program is only good if you are looking for job. The program is not regonized by AICTE. Moreover this program does not give you a feel of those programs which are held on campus.Benefit .You get a job in Wipro .DisAdv . The degrees are not recognized by any other educational instiutes or govt bodies .Treat this course like a distance course.Hope this helps.
