What percent of Google's revenue comes from search advertising?
-
Carol Bartz said 99% of Google's business in search. Is this true? Or does the 99% figure include advertising revenue on non-search products as well?
-
Answer:
In Q1 2010, according to their 10-Q [1], Google made 66% (4.4B) of its revenue from advertising on "Google websites" and 30% (2.0B) from advertising on "Google Network websites." The rest is designated as "Other revenues." I suppose "Google websites" includes YouTube, GMail, etc., but the bulk of that 66% is undoubtedly from search. Hello there,Google has stated that 97% of their revenue comes from advertising. Although the average price brands pay when someone clicks on one the ads they bought from Google declined year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2015, this time by 13%. However, Google was able to get people to click on 31% more ads than a year ago, sending its total advertising revenue up by 17% to hit $19.1 billion. Overall the search giant generated $21.2 billion in total revenue, up 18%. year-over-year. Attached is a link for Google's 2015 financial statement and 2014 annual income statement. I hope this helps and wish you luck. http://usadye.ru/web/Google%20Income%20Statement%202015/lang-russian

International Data Corp, or IDC, estimated that Q1 2011 online ad spend in the U.S. totaled $8.1 billion [1]. According to IDC, in Q1 search advertising comprised 48.7% of total online ad spend and Google commanded 59.6% of those search advertising dollars. These figures put Google's U.S. search advertising revenue at $2.35 billion (8.1*0.487*0.596). Google's Q1 2011 U.S. revenue was $4.01 billion ($8.58 billion - $4.57 billion international revenue) [2]. Assuming the IDC figures are accurate, then ~59% of Google's revenue comes from search advertising (2.35/4.01). However, we should keep in mind that IDC seemingly underestimated Google's U.S. revenue. If we pull in IDC's estimate of Google's Q1 2011 display revenue in the U.S., $0.397 billion (8.1*.333*.147), then IDC's estimate is about $1.26 billion short of Google's $4.01 billion figure from their Q1 2011 earnings report. No need for inside knowledge, this info is public. 90% of their revenue is a combination of search and display advertising. If you look at all of their non-search non-AdSense expenses and revenues, that part of the company loses a lot of money. Keyword relevancy is one of the keys to success with Google AdWords. While it may be tempting to include all sorts of keywords, you can get your hands on, be aware that this is often the #1 mistake advertisers make when creating their first campaign. You only want prospects that âNeed You Nowâ and are going to be motivated to contact your company, or purchase your services if they click your ad. People bid on the wrong keywords all the time, and it hurts them big time. Thatâs why you need the professional SEO and analytics tool which can help to track poor advertisers.I discovered great example â Threat and Engagement Analytics Software(TEA), which is powered by ShopingCartElite. This tool can detect your poor performing keywords and advertisers, then automatically eliminate them from your campaign while increasing the ad spend on the high-performing keywords and advertisers. You should agree it can reduce unnecessary costs and bring more paying customers.Disclosure: I am a consultant for on-line businesses and have reviewed this platform with its tool.
