We use Function Point Productivity software internally as our one-stop shop for managing all of our clients, work, scheduling & time tracking. Our marketing department is effectively able to track their projects & goals. I firmly believe that by not having a Project Management tool and CRM system, you're potentially setting yourself up for disaster. There are many smaller marketing and advertising agencies that are using MS Excel for example, as their primary tool to run their business, manage projects and keep track of schedules. We all know that spreadsheets can spiral out of control and quickly turn into chaos. A big part of running a successful business is staying organized, whilst providing management and employees high level visibility of jobs, projects, tasks and agency/client communication. It may be worthwhile taking a look at our fp. blog that may be helpful in deciding what PM/CRM tool your marketing department is using: http://blog.functionpoint.com/blog/bid/87629/Choosing-the-right-project-management-software-for-your-agency

Hi, I have been using this tool called the BIZixx PMS. It is a very light and quick tool. It offers you many things in one package and is suitable for small and medium business use. It provides a very interactive dashboard which allows you to handle multiple projects from one screen. It is a very professional looking website which provides you with all the information you need about a project or task at one place. Some of the features of this tool are: Add/Edit team members list. Intelligent Permissions management. Documents management. Add/Edit Projects. Search Projects based on-client/project status/priority/exceeding allocated time. Department wise hours allocation. Option to strictly follow the hours allocated. Facility to mark any project as Favorite; Favorite projects appear on Dashboard. Facility to manage Key Information accessible only to permitted team members and never accessible to clients. Facility to add multiple Invoices with single project. Facility to setup auto- reminder. Attach multiple Team Members to same Task. Notify multiple team members for the new task created. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reports sent automatically to specific Team Members or non-BIZixx users email. For more detailed features list you can visit their website: http://www.bizixx.com They allow you to create a Free account and try out the product which is very good.

We use http://9-20am.com. It is a marketing management app, but since the projects we manage for our clients are all marketing projects it really works for us... We can create plans and then share them with the client. All the web analytics and other results get tracked in the same dashboard, so the client gets daily reporting which saves us huge amounts of time...

Our Marketing team uses our own tool - LiquidPlanner. It's great for marketing teams in that it's easy to break out projects and assign tasks to team members. You can also track time against tasks to see how certain things actually take. It's pretty cool. Check it out: http://www.liquidplanner.com/features/marketing-teams/

The marketing department of my company uses the software Comindware Tracker (http://www.comindware.com/tracker/) which is a workflow automation tool for marketing. They use the tool when they want to prepare various marketing campaigns, their costs, the materials and the people involved in them; website and social media optimization is also managed with the help of the tool. According to our marketers the tool is very simple to use and it takes not time to learn to handle it. There are mobile apps and people sometimes work from home having the same updated information and current data and statuses. I know they are going to order some customizations in order to improve some features while working with PR campaigns on the international level.
