How many countries in the world don't have an Independence Day?

  • Answer:

Here in Australia we don't because sadly we're not really independent. We still cling to some archaic ties to the British Monarchy which some of us are really embarrassed about and we're one of the few nations on earth who have a foreign head of state. We do have Australia day which marks the arrival of the First Fleet into Australia. It's sometimes referred to as Invasion Day by the Australian Aboriginal people (and others) who feel there should be some observance of the indigenous population who were already here and suffered at the hands of the early settlers.

Russia doesn't have an Independence Day.  If one imagines such a holiday, on what state could that independence be? On Mongolia? Don't make me laugh! Of course Russia has a National Day but if global policy trends are left as they are Russians will have to struggle for being independent. There is an old proverb: Russians are slow in harnessing but fast in riding (or driving, flying etc. to be more contemporary).

If you mean independence day with the broader sense, like a day of deliverance from a suzerain ( Colonial empire, military occupation. overthrown of regime, home rule etc) the the only country on earth is UK (and n particular England)

Nepal doesn't have an independence day. Nepal is the only South Asian nation to have never been colonized or become protectorate.

Japan, because we never became independent, save for a debatable end to WWII, and even if we did, it would be the formation of Japan, but we would not know it anyway because it was a few thousand years ago
