I’m Gujarati.First, you need to know Hindi well if you’re a non-native Gujarati speaker. Many words are similar, and even the letters are similar. (Gujarati alphabet) (Hindi alphabet) (Hindi devnagri script compared to other scripts)So if you can read Hindi devnagri well, Gujarati will be easy for you. Try learning the letters the same way a kindergarden child does. Write the letter, and say it. When you’re good with the letters try reading gujarati stuff. Read Gujarati-Hindi dictionaries for voucabulory. Learn pronous, verbs, adjectives and anything that is not a noun as most nouns are similar to hindi. Gujarati grammar is similar to hindi grammar.Assuming that you’re non gujarati who lives in gujarat or will shift there soon, you’ll have many gujarati people around. Try communicating with them using the words you learned. The more you communicate the better you become at it. This applies to any language. The type of gujarati you’ll learn depends on where you live or where you’ll shift. The language itself is very diverse. For example let me take the hindi phrase “वह चला गया” or “he has gone”In printed books:-Pelo chaliyo gyo.In surati gujarati:-Aye chaailo gayo.In kathiavadi gujarati:-Olo vayo gyo. Also, the word “matchstick” is called by different names in different places. In some places it is called “maachis” in some places “baakas”.So you language will develop according to the place you are. Every district in Gujarat speaks the language differently that is not the gujarati you’ll learn in the dictionary, books, newspapers, magazines, etc.If you wanna read gujarati stuff, refer to the dictionary. If you wanna speak it well, learn a few words and speak with your gujju friends.
