IRCTC: Can railway ministry / IRCTC show that a bulk of tickets are already booked and earn on tatkal booking?

1)As Keshav Mathur has pointed out, there are a lot of people who will have to be involved which makes it difficult. 2)If more tickets are sold in Tatkal quota rather than General quota, its just Indian Railway who benefits from it. I doubt if anyone will go to the extend of doing fraud in order to increase the revenue of Indian railway! Its easier to just announce that the percentage of seats in tatkal quota is increased and sell them accordingly.

Read my own different question on the stuff happening at IRCTC I personally feel something is very fishy with the IRCTC servers, the divisional PRS centres and especially trains that start from a particular station the agents and touts are cahouts with the station staff including TTE. Eg. Something is very wrong with trains like 12106 UP where starting station is Gondia and touts and agents at NGP are fully controlling the tickets, data that could reflect on IRCTC servers from local PRS etc, holding bulk 3AC bookings and what not. I mean, how come IRCTC says that we will not give you regular updates on your PNR, we will give you updates only after chart preparation? This is unethical too. My main concern is: you try to send any email to [email protected] and one never gets satisfactory answer. Take an eg. I still did not receive any reply as to why IRCTC decided to ban eWallet bookings between 8AM and 12 Noon. Its been 20 months and more, they are avoiding to send a reply to that questions. What would IRCTC lose by giving me a reply?

Number of tickets in tatkal quota between two stations are fixed for each and every train. If such a thing were happening we would be seeing the tatkal availability status increase/decrease frequently. N.B. You can check actual number of available tickets on tatkal quota before 10 a.m. on the same day you are supposed to book. It won't allow you to book before 10 though.

This is not possible in a government organization, like Indian Railway, where the system is being managed by so many people, sitting over different parts of the network. Seats in General quota and Tatkal quota are always predefined in system for every train, according to its composition. Whenever extra rush is noticed in some train, Railways try to provide additional coaches for clearing the wait listed passengers, depending on availability of coaches. But in this case also, people having General quota waiting list get priority over Tatkal quota.
