How can I create a social network with user profiles and a messaging system and groups if I already have knowledge of CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL, etc.?

I am looking to build from scratch I'm just not sure how to apply these concepts to creating profiles, I already know how to create logins and create "dynamic format".
