Sender Reputation Management: When paying for a dedicated email blast (sent to someone else's list on your behalf), is there a risk of damaging your sender reputation?

Answer:
Yes, of course! Sending to someone else's list means sending to a group of people who never subscribed for info. from YOU. There is a chance that you can provide high qualified info. and some people may actually like it. But for most people, your email is just spam that comes from somewhere they don't know. It is definitely not a good thing to have your brand recognized in a way like that. Moreover, I think sending emails to a list that you don't have authority to is something against the CAN-SPAM law. (Check http://www.comm100.com/blog/email-marketing-tutorial/can-spam-compliance-what-is-can-spam-and-why-does-it-matter.html out if you need more info. on the law).

It depends on who is doing the sending. Are you renting or buying the list? Either way it is never a good idea to buy/rent lists. The results will never be good and never worth the effort/money you are investing in such lists. The best thing you can do is start building your own list. It is a slow process but in the end you are going to see x1000 better results.
