How does a Vitamix heat broth and added ingredients sufficiently to cook them into soup?
-
I made a soup in the Vitamix with broth, vegetables (not cooked at all) and seasonings. I ran the Vitamix about 6 to 7 minutes until steaming, and all the vegetables were cooked and I had a delicious soup. How does it get hot enough?
-
Answer:
If you consider that a Vitamix motor could be running at 2 horsepower, there's a lot of mechanical energy going into your soup. The peak power is about 1500 watts, which is more than most microwaves. All that power has to go somewhere -- so it turns into heat.
