Ultrasound says "hetereogenous liver"...what does that mean?
-
I posted before but was told to include more info. Any help is appreciated: Background: I'm 32, F, 118 lbs. Have cystic ovaries and suspected adrenal hyperplasia (high 17 OHP), Mitra valve prolapse and murmur. Went to doc with edema (this is what he wrote on ultrasound order---have also had lower abdom. bloat for a few years)...everything came back fine on ultrasound but report says "Hetereogenous Liver". I had a liver cyst once on a CT if that makes any difference. What does heterogenous liver mean and does it require a follow up? (My doc is good, but his practice is large and they're not great with calling you back with results or for follow ups---any advise is appreciated).

Answer:
So you need to call them back and ask for an explanation of the ultrasound results. They owe you that information; be persistent.
