How To Cook Asparagus?

Cook Asparagus for Cancer Patients?

  • My aunt has cancer for the 2nd time now. and shes going through her weekly chemo sessions. I read online that asparagus fights cancer. My question is how should she eat the asparagus, raw, cooked etc? and can she add salt or pepper. what works the best? and has the most effect to her health? Thanks...

  • Answer:

Eating a balanced diet high in green vegetables is very important when fighting cancer, the more important thing is keeping someone who is receiving chemo nourished and hydrated as they are usually not feeling like eating. This is why, while doing chemo, eating high fat high energy foods is good. Don't worry so much about trying to eat to beat the cancer right now--it's way too late for diet to make any difference. Right now focus on calories and volume and keeping the weight at required levels. Your aunt should be seeing a nutritionist at her cancer center who will go over all of this with her and give her information on what the best diet for her will be. Cancer fighting foods need to be consumed BEFOE you get sick so focusing on any one "cancer fighting" food will not really help. Best Wishes.
