Are all of Macy's Interviews Group Interviews?

What is your experience of group job interviews?

  • Hi, I have an interview tomorrow for a job at DHL. It's a group interview, scheduled to last from 10:00 to 15:30. All I know is where it is, what time to be there, and that we will be observed from the moment we enter the room. I don't know anything else and I've never had a group interview before. This could be really difficult for me because I'm really shy and tend to stay in the background when there are 3 or more people. I was wondering if anyone had experience of group interviews and could maybe tell me what sort of things I might be expected to do? And anything else that might be useful to know? Thanks. Mark.

group interviews are scary but its important to be confident and always smile! you NEED to talk. group interview - usually, there should be around 10-20 people there applying for the same job, you will be given a bunch of tasks to do, like be put into a smaller group and have to work out problems/have to sell random object to to interviewers. you might be given out some tests-numerical/spelling etc, you will have to say something about yourself, name, age hobbies etc, but depending on the people this interview can be easier than the usual coz it can help relax you after all the group thing you will be given a one on one interview obv they say things about the job, ask you questions then you ask them atleast 3 questions

Well. To stand out to someone you have to be knowledgable, polite, keen, you have to make them feel like you are the best in that room. So when they ask questions, answer them as well as you can. And if there's questions to the group try and be keen and be the first to answer. Maybe shake the guys hand and introduce yourself? Just do your best, probably anyone in that room could do the job, you've just got to look like the b est one. Good luck!

You may have attended the interview already, but here's my experience of group interviews. I once went to an interview for Carphone Warehouse, and I had to give a presentation. There were 3 interviews, and we had to present at the same time, but in different parts of the room and to different interviewers. There were 4 different interviewers, and we would move around the room and talk to different interviewers. I didn't get the job, but I wouldn't mind being a driver for DHL. I consider myself to be shy as well, and 5.5 hours sounds like a long time. Good luck for future interviews. I believe God will help you to succeed with interviews and jobs.
