Answer:
I went through training but quit because I didn't have the right customer base to sell Cutco Knives. Personally, the knives are just a little better than a set of Henkles my dad has. The product works so it is an easy sale if you do the presentation right. My problem with it was anyone I had contact with through college were no where near where I live or were not the MAC (Married, Age 30-60 and Own a home) that I needed to sell during my 10 day FastStart program. It is nothing against Vector, it is just a deficiency I had. If you do not know many MACs, don't look for a job there because it will be an uphill climb to say the least. As for your question, I would not say it is exactly a scam. As you go through training, you will find out that your commissions will be lower with the free add-ons for the bigger sets. So know ahead of time if you want to make higher commissions, you might want to stress buying more accessories to go with the sets. Overall, it is a good job for experience. I would have kept it had I known more than a handful of MACs and was able to have appointments. You should have three appointments by the end of training before you take part in advanced training so if you cannot think of three MACs, I would not bother.

No one in the face of history has been turned down by this company. Come to my house trying to sell me $400 knives and I will throw my angry cat at you. I can buy the same thing at walmart much cheaper. Please try to find a real job, with a real employer, with a real salary. Hopefully you did not buy their kit - you are now stuck with it. And from now on, know that everyone out there is out to scam you. No such thing as easy money.

Research it on the Internet. And don't expect to make money from it.
