Adventure Time: Are Jake and Finn brothers?

Ok, so I was watching Adventure Time and it showed a hologram message left by their dad. They were both calling him dad and it showed them both as babies. So are they brothers? Real or adoptive brothers? I didn't really understand because one is kind of human looking and then one is a dog...and the dad was a dog in the hologram.

They say they are because Jake's parent toke Finn in when he was a baby. SO basically you can say Finn was adopted by Jake's parents

I think Finn and Jake are just best friends. Jake might be Finns dog, but I am pretty sure that they are not brothers. I hope I could help!
