Sudden Link Cable Box help?

Help setting up a magic eye with a TiVo box, using a TV Link plus.?

  • Right, here goes.. I will be swapping from Sky to Virgin and receiving a TiVo box that I want to use a magic eye with, like I do now with my Sky box, as the box will be out of site. I know I need: 1.) A Universal Scart To Coax Video Modulator ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Scart-Coax-Video-Modulator/dp/B000M6SMKW ) and... 2.) A TV Link Plus to work with the magic eye ( http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvlinkplus.htm ) So far I know the coaxal cable from the modulator goes into the TV Link plus. I have this diagram to try and help me but there are a few things I don't understand and need to know. http://www.tvlink.co.uk/downloads/185041484_tvlp.pdf (Just to clarify, I will only have the TiVo box going to 1 T.V.) Q1. On the diagram what is connection 3 and what are they for? And... Q2. Can you also talk me through how to connect it all together with the magic eye and TV Link Plus? Thanks in advance! :)

  • Answer:

Because the TiVo box has no RF output which the magic eye uses to send remote control signals to the sky box then a separate video and remote signal is needed. Connection 3 is a infra red signal cable which hangs down in front of the TiVo box remote sensor in order to change channel I imagine the magic eye will connect in series between connector 5 and tv aerial socket TVLINk also do a modulator called tvM just out of interest http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvm.htm
