Will my sunburn turn into a tan?

• Hey, so I'm pale skinned but Im NOT ginger or covered in freckles so my skin is somewhat robust. Well today I helped my mom in a charity event and she forgot the sunscreen. Were inside a tent which was shaded so Im not quite sure how I managed to get sunburnt. Right- Half my arm is brown and then half has a red tint to it, it isn't bubbled at all but stings a little. As soon as I got home I went in a cold shower and then applied after sun lotion with vitamin E, which is supposed to help sunburnt skin. So I'm asking for your opinion- Do you think my sunburn will peel or fade into a tan? Im worried about it because of how much its stinging. Any advice appreciated!

  It will do both actually! My sister is paler then a ghost and I once accidenly left her out tanning for 4 hours, not realizing she had fallen asleep. It was so bad she couldnt move, but then it got better and peeled and eventually turned into a nice tan. But I DO NOT RECOMMEND HURTING YOUR SKIN this way. With my sister, it was an accdent.
