It's possible to convert an application Android (.apk) in iOS (.ipa?

IOS Application Development Vs Android Application Development?

  • Hey guys thanks for viewing. I am in a self-debate on whether i should start iOS app development for iPhones, iPads, etc. Or if i should start Android development. The reason i am sort of struggling to pick is because i am already very familiar with the Java language and i have been programming with it for quite some time now, so doing Android development would be a lot easier for me instead of doing iOS development because i would have to learn Objective-C if I decided to chose iOS development . I know that the Apple App Store is superior when compared to the Android Market, so i know Apple development would be better for me in the long run, but for the time being, I would need to learn Objective-C. What do you suggest for me? Thank you

  • Answer:

Well, Android is a pretty popular platform especially in the smartphone market, so it really wouldn't be a disadvantage to jump on to Android application development, especially since you already have experience in the Java programming language. I don't think you strictly need to use Objective-C (well, I'm definitely sure of this for OS X application development, anyway). You can use some other languages as well, but obviously Apple pushes Objective-C as the language to use. If you don't want to be using multiple programming languages and application frameworks for development of mobile applications across multiple platforms, you may want to consider taking a look at Adobe Flash Builder and Adobe's Flex framework: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash-builder-family.html. It looks pretty good; I've checked it out myself but not really looked into it any further yet. But again, either way, going for Android application development first isn't going to be a major disadvantage to you - Android's market share in the smartphone market is increasing, so whether you choose Android or iOS application development first doesn't necessarily matter from a market perspective, but whether you prefer iOS or Android application development is another thing. The tablet market, though, is a completely different area which Apple definitely is leading in market share. Although I'm sure there's millions of Android tablet users too. Good luck!

I would sugest just doing android because you already know how to script on it, plus its wayyy cheaper to put on the marketplace on andriod than it is on the app store. Bottom line, just do it on android first, then if people like ur app then do it on ios, but do android first.

I think android is best for you because you already know how to script on it. But if you want to learn Objective-C. you can learn. Because Objective-C is good. you can develop iphone apps with the help of Objective-C. Currently iphone and android both Smartphone are in demand.

Android is powering about 50 percent smart device all over the world. rest are powered by iOS, BlackBeery, Windows Phone, Symbian and others OSes. it is upon you which is better.
