Can you edit video in Windows Movie Maker?

How can I edit my video on windows movie maker if I am using my iphone?

  • Okay, so I am trying to edit my video on movie maker but because its apple, I can't. I tried many ways but it still shows an exclamation mark in the box.. so is there is a way that I can change it so winodws can accept it? and the video is long so any idea? Thank you

    I agree with TiddiVisual, but there is one more option. Get the video from your iPhone into the computer. It will be an MP4 file format. Use a transcoder - converter - like MPEG StreamClip from www.squared5.com or HandBrake from www.handbrake.fr (there are other transcoders out there, I happen to like these) to convert the MP4 file into a file format that MovieMaker can deal with. Since we don't know what version Windows operating system or MovieMaker your are dealing with, we go for generic - so convert to a WMV format your MovieMaker can deal with. Low compression = large file and better video quality. This is preferred. High compression = small file quality and reduced video quality. This is NOT recommended. When the transcoding is complete, quit the transcoder, launch MovieMaker and drag the converted file to the sequence storage area or timeline of MovieMaker... edit...

The easiest would be to edit via Windows 'Live' movie maker. Movie maker 2.6 vista doesn't support QT .mov videos. Download wmm: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/essentials-home might have to rotate some iPhone videos accdg. to the way you shoot .. - it's better to shoot video in landscape format (usually photos are in portrait) so that the resulting video would fit the 16:9 screen. good for showing on TV or widescreen monitor. Editing in wmm is very simple: - upload videos to computer, also pics - then import to wmm, add videos & pics to the storyboard in proper sequence - edit_cut/trim, put transitions between important events, - add background music to spice up - add titles and greetings - finish (render) and - finally burn to Dvd. The best fomat for Windows Movie Maker is WMV. MP4 is video format for most of mobile devices,if you want to edit video ,you had better convert the MP4 to WMV. If you only need the audio , I think WMA is better choice. Since you only have some videos to convert ,I think you can use the trial version of Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate,it supports mp4 to many format ,including WMV,WMV ,MP3 and ect. Have a try.
