Can Sony Vegas pro 8 work with .MOV files?

Why won't Sony Vegas Pro 10 Open My Files...?

• I have a hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition and it comes with a program called ArcSoft. I use ArcSoft to capture my gameplay and it looks and sounds great whether it is .m2ts .mp4 or if it's .ts. I can watch all of these file formats in windows media player, windows movie maker, and in ArcSoft. What I can't do is open these files in Sony Vegas. I right click and then click "insert video track". I then try and drag a file in and it says "None of the files dropped on Vegas Pro could be opened" (same prompt for .M2TS, .MP4, and MPEG-2TS) If i go to import media it does not recognize the files unless i allow it so search for "all file types". When I try to import the media this way I am prompted with "Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. The file is an unsupported format". It gives me this prompt for all 3 file types. I have updated drivers, and I got my PVR, laptop and Vegas yesterday so they are new and barely used. Any ideas as to how I could get these .MP4, .M2TS, or MPEG-2TS files into Vegas for some proper editing? Thank you for your help, and e-mail me at [email protected] if you want more info.

  The best fomat for Sony Vegas is WMV. M2TS is video format for most of mobile devices,if you want to edit video ,you had better convert the M2TS to WMV. If you only need the audio , I think WMA is better choice. Since you only have some videos to convert ,I think you can use the trial version of Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate ,it supports mp4 to many format ,including WMV,WMV ,MP3 and ect. Have a try.
