How to transfer files via Ad Hoc connection?

Share files between Vista and Seven Starter on Wifi ?

• Hello, I want to share files between two laptops , one has Win Vista, the other Windows Starter seven, I gave the two computers the same name (and password) and they have the same Workgroup, I created a WiFi Ad-Hoc network on Win Vista and I logged seven on this connection, I authorized any type of file sharing in both laptops, Win Vista computer does not display Win seven computer when I click on Network , though seven displays the Vista pc in the mapping of wireless connection in the Network and Sharing center but I do not know how to navigate and access the computer. PS: The wifi etwork i have created is a home network with Wep protection. If someone has already managed to share files and knows the trick, please by what ways I can proceed? thank you!

  The computers should have different names. The user names can be the same, but the computer names should be different. The workgroups being the same is good. The should both be connected to the same network. On the Vista PC, open the (My) Computer, go into the C: drive, create a new folder, and then right-mouse-click that folder & share it. Give everyone full control. On the Vista PC, click the start logo and type CMD into the search box then press Enter. This will bring up a command window. Type the following then press Enter: IPCONFIG Scroll up a little bit and write down the IPV4 address. (It will be something like 192.168.1.3) Now go to the Windows 7 PC. Open Computer. Up in the address window at the top, type in //192.168.1.3 (That is, add // and then put in the IP address of the Vista PC) When you press enter, it should go to that computer and see the folder you shared.
