What are some good Christian praise-and-worship songs?

Is it normal to like Christian songs even though I'm not Christian?

  • I'm not particularly religious, but I have been brought up in a Christian environment. I'm not atheist or agnostic either - I'm open to an idea of a God, but don't hold such beliefs. Anyway, I've realised that I like Christian songs (and some psalms) and it calms me to listen to it. Is that normal?

  • Answer:

I'm not gay, but I love Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. You like what you like.

I like pagan songs and I am a Christian.

Not really. I'm sure that when you arrive in hell, you will not be allowed to sing any of these songs without offending a lot of people.

of course its not weird, one of the ideas behind christian songs is to praise god for what he has given us, but by doing so they tend to be very positive songs, with positive messages. whether you enjoy listening to hymns with rich harmonies, or a bit of LZ7 or twelve24, it doesn't matter. music is a way of releasing feelings and you should listen to what ever you enjoy listening to. hope this helps :)

I don't believe the music you listen to guides anything you believe in as a christian i listened to Suicide Silence and Rose Funeral, still do I also listen to A Bullet For Pretty Boy, um The Devil Wears Prada. I even like some christian choir songs. I dont think it matters at all.

I listen to tree63 sometimes, good melody. most of the songs sound like they're directed towards a women anyway, I would feel weird thinking about a male deity in that way. "Can we hang out tonight underneath Your ceiling I could stare up at a million lights and listen to You breathing If I fall fast asleep it's just because I feel so safe in" Give it a listen, you'll see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fiop3ZKzK4

I am an atheist but I can still enjoy Verdi's Requiem and Handel's Messiah. I can also enjoy some of the beautiful poetry in the Bible. None of these things require me to believe in a god of any sort.

It is perfectly fine, many studies have shown how music actually changes brainwaves. Christian music just has that quality for you.
