What are careers similar to being a paramedic?!?

Hi everyone!, so i'm a highschool student and im trying to figure out what "i want to be when i grow up" and what i want to major in in college........so, what i want in a future career- *pays well *is new and interesting everyday(not an office job or one stuck behind a computer) *i want to help people (possibly medically) what i dont want- *to be around children(sometimes is fine, just not a teacher or something around kids constantly) *preferably not in a hospital I've always been interested in becoming a paramedic, but i know its pretty hard to get hired as one if you are also a fireman(fire medic), and i dont want to be a fireman ...... so is there anything similar to a paramedic??? any suggestions?
