What Android phone will best retain it's value in 4 months?
-
I am almost positive that I will be buying the iPhone 5 32gb when it is released, and probably on release date too! I will be buying it outright. I know that this is quite an expensive option, but I have decided that it is what's best for my circumstance, so please do not advise me against this. Anyway, I am getting slightly impatient. Currently, I am not using a smartphone whilst I wait for the new iPhone. I was wondering how much it would cost me to buy an outright Android phone now and then resell it weeks before the iPhone is released. I am an avid follower of all tech news and apple rumours, and so I am positive that I will be able to predict an iPhone announcement right before it occurs. I will sell my fill-in phone around that time, and survive without a phone for a week or two whilst waiting for the new iPhone. The best option that I found for my idea was the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Whatever phone I get, it MUST be Android. On eBay, the Galaxy Nexus can be purchased NEW for $430. It can be purchased USED for about $360 (max). I am aware that these prices will drop every day, and so I am asking whether the selling price for a 4 month old Galaxy Nexus will still be around the $360 mark in October. $70 for 4 months use of a phone this good is a bargain, and it's the best deal I could find in comparison with any other phone. Any help would be much appreciated. If any more options could be found, the phone should be a high-end Android smartphone (HTC One X, Galaxy SII/SIII etc.).

I believe it will still be around $360+ mark.. I bought an used Nexus S from ebay 4 months ago for $225, and the price is still around this mark... But are you sure that you are gonna get the Galaxy Nexus? It is a great phone and you might fall in love with it. You know, once you go android you never go back
$360 in October? Hmm. Not sure. It could. Their value drops depending on how popular they are. Popular or newer high end Android phones won't drop their values significantly. But since the Galaxy Nexus has been around since last year, it's values could end up being lower than $360. But, if you buy a high end Android phone from this year (One X or S III), it's more likely to have retain it's value for sometime. And since these 2 phones are on demand (very popular), it would be safer to grab one of these 2.

htc one x, galaxy s3 or s2 are better in terms of specs if you are going to compare them to galaxy nexus. but i highly recommend you galaxy nexus. why? galaxy nexus uses the original user interface from google. this phone is a PURE android from google. this means that it will be less laggy and buggy. on the other phones, their user interface was changed by their manufacturer. and the user interface they use is not yet perfect, so it has many bugs and sometimes it will lag. even if the other phones( htc one x, galaxy s3) have quadcore processor, GALAXY NEXUS which has only dualcore processor will be faster because it is purely from google. and google promises to prioritize its updates first on galaxy nexus
