Is there a way to show people a word document through the internet?

I want to show my friends a word document through the internet but I don't want to send them the file I want to upload the text document to a website (or something) so they can read the text document on the internet. Has this been done, if so please send me to the place to do this!

you can use google docs. basically like word, but on the internet. you send your friends a link and it goes to the document. you can set privacy settings to manage who can see it and who can edit it
