Is it possible to change my IPv4 address?

Is there a way i can change my NAT type to "open" for xbox live if i have a wireless internet connection?

  • Here's the deal, my barracks in Bahrain just installed a high speed wireless internet connection called "gowifi" so all you have to do is go to their website and buy a package, i bought one where it allows you internet access for your laptop, gaming console, and 2 additional electronic devices to connect to it, well regarding my xbox, i could not connect it to the wifi so what i did was make a "Bridge" connection on my laptop and plugged in an ethernet cord from my xbox to my laptop and i can get xbox live, the problem is that when i got it, my xbox told me that im going to have connection issues because my NAT is at Moderate, so now, in game, i will disconnect frequently from the game servers, now my question is if it is possible to change from Moderate to Open? i surfed the web and found out that i can if i was using a modem which i am not by entering my IPv4 default address or gate way into my browser and port forwarding from there, problem is that i tried putting in that address into my address bar but it took me to a page that just showed me my IP address, Bytes up/down, and connection time, well its not the same from how i see people doing it so i am a bit stuck, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Call your isp and ask them to open your ports for xbox live, or don't, I've had moderate nat for a long time and pretty much the only problem I had was I couldn't connect to certain people.

Ignore the other answers. This is a 30 second tutorial. Go to Guide>Settings>Network Settings>Test Connection. If you test your connection (at least for my friends and I) you get an Open NAT.
