What are integrated marketing communications objectives on advertising?

Broadcast Journalism isn't an option, what are my alternatives?

  • I am going to be attending Florida State University. They don't offer a journalism college or major, instead they have a school of communications. My dream job would be something in broadcast journalism, specifically a pop culture news anchor along the lines of E! News' Giuliana Rancic or Joan Rivers. The options in the communications school are: Advertising [B] Corporate and Public Communication [M] Integrated Marketing and Management Communication [M] Mass Communication [D] Media/Communication Studies [B] Media and Communication Studies [M] Media Production [B] Public Relations [B] Speech Communication [D] Which route best suites my aspirations? Also, if possible could someone please leave a brief description or career examples of each major? Thank you!

  • Answer:

The [M] and [D] ones are not an option for you. Those are master's or doctoral programs. That said, I believe Media/Communication Studies or Media Production would be your best choice.
