Can you take pictures with the flip camera?

What's a good camera that I can take a lot of pictures at once?

• I would like a camera that takes a lot of pictures at once like for sports, family pictures, school activites, things like that. I'm leaning toward a canon but I don't know what features to look for. But the one thing that I want is to take a bunch of pictures in a short amount of time. The camera I have now I really like but that's a big issue. I'll take one pic then I have to wait probably 3 seconds to take another one

  P&S cameras all have shutter lag, so just getting a new one will not cure your problem. So many shoot in what would be called the semi-auto mode if the camera was a rifle. You can guess why photographers who press down on the shutter release and hold it until the cameras buffer fills are called machine gunners. Of the thirty or forty shots they get, rarely are any capturing the action at exactly the right time. That just leaves more shots to edit (sort) and when on deadline, the fewer shots the better.
