How To Block Website?

How do you block a specific website on Safari?

  • There is a music blog website that I frequently visit which has been recently hacked. Now when you click on this blog it immediately redirects you to another website. I need to block the other website that it redirects you to in order to get through to the blog itself. I contacted some of the blog moderators and they told me that that is how they are getting in. The problem is that I do not know which is the easiest way to block a specific website when using Safari. I went to the parental controls settings under users and added the website url I wanted to block there, but this did not work. I need to know which is the easiest way to block just one website from being accessible on SAFARI. Thanks.

Mac OS X has Hosts file just like Windows. We can edit Hosts via Terminal on a Mac to block specific websites that are not allowed to visit. http://www.internet-filter-mac.com/use-terminal-to-block-websites-on-mac.html You can also launch the parental controls to block a site.

You can't block it on safari. You can block it on your network settings or in parental controls
