How Can I style my Hair?

• I am really really new to this whole hairstyle thing. I haven't cared about my hair until recently. I have been trying to get the Japanese spiky hair or Visual Kei look. I got my hair cut to have the layers and everything. It seems that everyone but me can do it very easily. I feel a bit hopeless about it. I shower and make sure my hair is clean before I attempt. I dry my hair then attempt to flatten. My hair is not incredibly long like all tutorials I have tried to look at. No matter how many times a hairdresser tells me, It doesn't seem to sink it. After I attempt to flatten it, I rub my hands with some of the wax and try and put spikes up. Nothing seems to be working. I could use tips on how to use a flat iron, especially in the back of my head, and how to do the actual spiking. I feel so afraid to use the flat iron because my hand isn't steady. I don't know if this information helps, but I am a guy and I am not Asian.

  First of all you shouldn't wash your hair every day if it's "too clean" it's harder too work with and it's not healthy for your hair too over wash, wash it like every two days or more I know that might sound weird but I took cosmetology so i do know hair, Dang there's so many ways too do this; 1)Flat iron it upwards and just the tips 2)put the wax in first then flat iron it, add more wax on the tips of your fingers and pull the tips too a point up wards. 3)don't use wax use hair glue (got2b spiking glue) that's what my husband uses and it works beautifully Tips on how too flat iron, hard too say, depends on what your trying too do in the back, but maybe just flip your head upside down an iron it up, if you iron it down, then it's going too be hard too spike it
