What are the English language requirements for Dependant of a Tier 1 (general) Migrant (UK) if there are any?

  • Hi, I'm a Tier 1 (General) Migrant in the UK and my leave is due to expire in April 2014. I recently got married (out of the UK) and now planning on making a PBS Dependant application for my wife to join me. I need to know if there is any English language requirements for PBS Tier1 General Dependants and if there are, what are they? Appreciate if you could also provide references to your answers (i.e UKBA site or something). I read the PBS Guidance for Dependants but couldn't find anything. Just need to confirm before she applies. Thanks in advance for your useful comments.

    Write you query VFS UK ([email protected]) - They would respond you within 24hrs. I recently read on another blog, I assume your wife needs to write IELTS exam to support her dependent application.

To get a job in the UK you must have Intermediate one to Advanced Higher english. Employers will not hire you if you do not have a certificate in English. You have to check with an actual government service - not on Yahoo! The UK Border Agency are good for these things, and every country has information for illegal immigrants. I don't know if you're illegal or legal but you can't ask on Yahoo, nobody has this sort of information.
