Is it possible to be allergic to certain dog breeds, but not all?

Large dog breeds. again lol?

  • I know I have been asking this a few times, but just trying to get a perfect choice on dogs lol. Sorry for spamming D: I figured to get a better answer I need more details. xD Okay nobody seems to know what i mean by large dog breeds. I want a huge dog, one that will stick around if camping or hiking. will protect me and my other dog if needed. Protect his/her territory. GSD are a great dog, I have one already other then she's a cross between something else. Ever since my dad brought home the akita/lab I've wanted a bigger dog then him. One that I can train. I'm talking large dog breeds not small ones or medium ones. The dog I have now is a mix of colly/lab/retriever. Medium sized pure black good tempermant dog. He's still a pup but yeah. any ideas hints? I need to put more details in here. I need a dog that will stick around if in the woods. (around where I live wolves are high in numbers) kind of the reason I want a big dog is cause .. well i love big dogs. especially anything that looks like a german shephard or wolves and i love their tempermants. I will be camping, hiking, I just want a dog that can do it all. The reason why I want a wolf pup or adult is because I play with dogs more then I do with people. I could give the wolf a huge chunk of my life to train him and be his friend. and the alpha male of course.

    Clearly u want a wolf so buy one lol they r awsome. Buy me one to lol they r expensive. But if u dnt want a wolf buy a great parenise they love ppl love to b outdoors and r super protective they are used as goat dogs to kill anything that trys to hurt there goats or family. They work well n pairs. N are very large dogs research them. They would not hesitate to take on anything trying to harm u or your family

Then get a wolf pup or adult.......WHATEVER! At this point I do believe some people are loosing patience.....I have only answered you ONCE and you obviously did NOT check any of the websites I posted. So, you want a dog which will stay with you, guard you, and possibly beat the crap out of wild creatures? A FILA. FILA. FILA. Now go do some researching.

You can't train a wolf. They are wild animals - end of story. If you want a big dog that looks a lot like a wolf and is good for hiking get a tamaskan.

A dog doesn't have to be big to defend you my dads dog has 30 pounds on mine and when the play fight mine whips him every time but if you want a big wolf lookin dog how about an Alaskan malamuet or Karelian bear dog if those aren't big enough look at mastiffs or great pyrenese

A dog will not protect you unless they are trained to do so. You want something that looks like a German Shepherd? Contact a GSD rescue or use Petfinder.com. then get it protection training.

I'm determined to get this question right. >:] Okay, try these: Anatolian Shepherds Great Pyrenees Greater Swiss Moutain Dog They don't exactly look like wolves, but they're REALLY big. I'm really running out of ideas. A dog that looks a bit wolf-like (they're used to wolf substitutes on television) is an Alaskan Malamute. Other than that, it's not as big, but it's an AMAZING guardian dog is a Karelian Bear Dog. - After all, they're used for protecting people from bears! Plus, they have pricked ears, so they look a little wolf-like. (:

Well the only dogs that look similar to wolves are Akita and Husky. However, the largest dog breed is the Irish Wolfhound. The name of the breed came from its specific purpose: hunting wolves. Perhaps this is the dog breed you're seeking. Obviously different dogs have different personalities. I've seen huge dogs cower while tiny dogs attack. Bottom line is you need to do serious research for a pet dog. There are numerous things to consider other than appearance. Wolf hybrids have regulations because if the animal has too much wolf in it, there is a possibility of an unpredictable temperament like a wild animal.
