How can I find a person's last name?

How to find a persons last name.?

  • Ok so I met this girl on vacation and I couldn't get her number in time. I want to find her last name so I can find her on twitter r whatever. I know what city she lives in and know her first name. I know her age and know her sister got married on Wednesday. Any ideas? I want to find her last name so bad!

  • Answer:

If the newspaper in her city has a web version, and it has a wedding article 0 - 7 days after the event, it may mention her, especially if she was a bridesmaid. If not, it may trigger your memory. If you live close enough, you could wait a week, go to the public library and wade through the old papers. If you are really desperate and determined, you could buy last week's edition of the newspaper by mail. If she has her security settings low enough, you might be able to find her on facebook. If she has an account, she probably posted wedding pictures. My nephew got married last week, and about half of his aunts, uncles, parents and cousins posted photos. (His dad doesn't FB.)

I'd wait a few weeks then go to the newspaper for the area she lives in and look for a wedding announcement. Was your friend in her sister's wedding? She might even be mentioned in the clipping.

Genealogy is about research dead ancestry........sounds like this 'girl' is very much alive...so wrong category we don't research living people especially ones without a surname.............
