Best east coast beaches?

What are the best shelling beaches along the East Coast(10 POINTS)?

• Okay,I live in Bristol,TN,and we are planning on visiting a beach.We went to Hilton Head Island,SC,last summer and there were no shells WHATSOEVER!! We loved all the bike trails and the freedom to surf fis,but we want to find shells and not have to drive much more the Hilton Head.We DON'T want to revisit Myrtle Beach because it is WAY to crowded,trashy beaches,and NO surf fishing.We were thinking of going to Jekyll island,GA.It seems nice with bike trails,surf fishing,and shelling,from what we've heard.Are there anymore beaches(or islands)like this that are close to the same distance(we could drive a little further)?How about Topsail Island,NC?Just as long as it has uncrowded beaches,surf fishing,bike trails,AND shelling,we'll be interested.Thanks for reading!ANY answers will be appreciated and a best answer WILL be chosen!

  Travel and Leisure magazine listed its top 10 best beaches for shelling. They included: Ocracoke Island NC Cumberland Island GA Here is the whole list: http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/10-best-us-shelling-beaches Coastal Living magazine also listed those two. My favorite is Sanibel Island FL.
