My computer thinks that Gta San Andreas is installed on my computer even though I have uninstalled it.?

I modded Gta san andreas with car mods but then it stopped working so i removed all the mods. It still would not work though so I uninstalled it using the proper installer, then I tried to install it again and the box comes up giving me the options to download direct x, view the read me, play the game (just like it does when you just put the disk in to play the game) e.t.c. like it thinks the game is already installed. when I click on play nothing happens because of corse, I have uninstalled it, but for some reason it thinks otherwise. I have tried deleting all the remaining Gta sa files on my computer and downloading a 'clean up' program to get rid of remaining program files. that's what youtube and google told me to do. But yet it is still exactly the same. I really want to play the game again and I know it is not the disk because I have tried the disk at a friends house and it works perfectly. I am grateful for any help. Thanks!

i would make shure that it might not mess up your x box it could be a wierd kind of vires
