What are some really good books that a teenager should read?
-
I am a thirteen year old girl in the seventh grade. It is now summer vacation and being the nerd I am, I want to read a large amount of books this summer. I am at an 10-ish grade reading level, so anything from a 7-10 grade reading level would work. I am looking for classical books or newer read. Yes, I have read The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Twilight so please do not suggest those.

Since it seems like you're read some popular books, I'll just list some I've read that I've liked. 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher (it's sad, but it's pretty good) The Mortal Instruments series (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass...etc.) by Cassandra Clare (It's fantasy, basically, it has demons and Shadowhunters and so on) The Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray (about a girl in the late nineteenth century, with some fantasy) Divergent by Veronica Roth (I haven't read it but I hear it's pretty good) Eragon by Christopher Paolini (more fantasy, it deals with dragons) The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson (a group of orphan kids who can fly) The Uglies series by Scott Westerfield (dystopia, it takes place in a future where everyone's made pretty) Sorry if I suck at descriptions. and if you're like me, and like the humorous teen fic-types: Meg Cabot books. Any of them. They're awesome. Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter (I LOVED her books when I was thirteen, the series is about a school for girl spies) Any Sarah Dessen books. I especially liked Just Listen and The Truth About Forever If you liked Twilight, there's also the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick, which is pretty similar except it has fallen angels instead of vampires. As for classics, To Kill a Mockingbird is good. I just read The Great Gatsby, which was also pretty good. I've also been wanting to read The Count of Monte Cristo. Pride and Prejudice is always a classic, as are most the other Jane Austen books. These are usually a bit higher level reading, but from what you've been saying you sound like you can handle it. I would suggest more for you to read, but I'm not much into classics, sad to say. I pretty just listed some of the books in my closet, lol. Hope I helped!

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I read it in 10th grade. Its about a woman that grew up in an abusive household before going to a boarding school in which she faces some trials before growing up, becoming a governess and falling in love with her boss, only for him to have a deep, dark secret that can ruin their relationship.
