Can anyone give me a list of good metal bands?

Can anyone give me any ideas for some bands?

  • I'm looking for some not so well known, decent sounding rock bands. When I say rock I mean any sub-genre. I like all forms. I have bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, I Am Ghost, Cradle of Filth, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Adelitas Way, Alice Cooper Alice In Chains, Aerosmith, Deadstar Assembly, Dommin, Disturbed, Egypt Central, and Guns n Roses just to name a small few. I just need something fresh. So if anyone has any suggestions feel free, again I prefer kind of the underground, not so main stream. I only listed main stream here so people would get an idea of what I would like without having to do research what the bands sound like.

    I don't understand your question, you're asking for some decent rock bands yet the majority of bands you listed were heavy & extreme metal. You also said rock sub-genres, but heavy metal is not a sub-genre of rock, especially the extreme metal genres. Anyway, I tend to listen to black metal so don't mind if I list some non-rock bands, try these: Emperor, The Kovenant (older stuff, don't listen to their shitty new techno styled music), Marilyn Manson, Black Messiah, Gorgoroth, Dimmu Borgir, Cry of Silence, Finntroll, Dark Funeral, Krypt, Immortal, Embryonic (this was pre-Emperor), Sonic Mayhem, Possessed, Mortiis, Moon, Enslaved, Hecate Enthroned, Faith in Decay (a local Australian band), Darkthrone, Graveworm, Enslavement of Beauty, H.I.M, Murderdolls, Moonspell, Wednesday 13 (singer of Murderdolls), Rammstein, Nightwish, Vital Remains, My Dying bride, Rob Zombie, White Zombie, John 5 (former guitarist of Marilyn Manson, now with Rob Zombie), Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Slipknot, Metallica (before they sold out, and perhaps their most recent album) and Cannibal Corpse. By the way, I'm 15 and I actually have a good taste in music (by my perspective) unlike the rest of teenagers who listen to rap, hip-hop, dub step, pop, techno, disco, etc. I honestly can't see anything in it, it's all bland, overproduced and lyrically deficit music. I gave you LOADS of underground and "unknown" bands there!

Fleetwood Mac is an amazing 70's rock band. check out these songs from them-Go your own way, Gypsy,Rhiannon,Dreams and theres lots more. those are my favorites. You wont regret checkin them out on try youtube.

Uh, Say Anything, Blink 182, Bayside, Green Day, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Brand New, The Doors, Pearl Jam, New Found Glory, Radiohead, Metallica - Although some of them are pretty different to the bands you've mentioned, you might like them so try listening?
