Somethings wrong with my eyes?

Somethings wrong with my pups eyes?

  • I had my puppy outside for most of yesterday.. this mid morning when he came out of his kennel his eyes were all red & blood shot, eye lids were all baggy and loose. And this clearish/gray film was over one half and on bottom of eyeball and the other eye had it too but that filmish like thing was black.. Now the night before he was up late with me, so I thought maybe he's just tired. Could he have gotten sprayed with something by someone while he was in the back yard? Could he have just gotten pollen in his eyes?? My back yard is completly fenced in so no one else was back there with him.. but could have sprqayed him while walking by fence? He's just 10 months.. so I would hope nothing serious would start happening at this young age.. He is a Chocolate Lab/English Springer.

you should take your dog to the veterinarian when you get a chance. The veterinarian knows what problem your dog has on its eyes. I know the vet cost money. What u can try is searching veterinarians in your area on the internet, Yelp, or yellow pages to compare prices and see which one that u can afford. Have a great day.

Don't entertain guesswork. Take him to your veterinarian ASAP.

It sounds like something could of gotten in his eye that severely irritated it/cut the eye itself. When my dogs eye was punctured in a fight it developed a film that was greasy looking/gray and was very red and bloodshot. It doesn't sound like the canine version of pink eye, which is more associated with pus like discharge. Depending on where you live allergies have been outrageously bad for dogs this year and some dogs are much more sensitive then others, perhaps he needs allergy medicine to make it through the spring(my dog takes human Zyrtec). However, eye problems can rapidly go from bad to worse in a very short amount of time and he should be seen by a vet. I wouldn't even suggest washing the eye out with a cleansing solution as that my further irritate the problem. It could be any number of things so it's very hard to tell. Some dog breeds are very prone to eye issues, spaniels being one of them.

I would get the dog to a vet asap. Most medical advice on Yahoo Answers is Bogus. Could be anything from an injury to an allergy to just dust irritation. Not something to play with.
