How much money is reasonable for a photographer to pay a model?

  • I am an amateur photographer and I want to hire (a) model(s) for a shoot I want to do. I am thinking about paying the model $25 per picture set.Some of my shoots will include nudity and implied nudity. Of course the model I am aiming for is one that is an amateur or one that is just starting to go professional.

    Nude and implied nude just took you into the 75$ an hour and up range. Recruit models, ask their rates, determine if they fit your budget. It;s easier that way. Look on Model Mayhem to find models who do nudes in your area.

I would suggest not paying her/him at all, and just giving them the pictures you take as payment. If they are an aspiring model, they will always need pictures for their portfolio. This is how I started and I still do this today.

Unless you are fantastic, I doubt any model will peel off their clothes fro $25 an hour. You can get models for free but not nude. For nudes, models usually want closer to $100 an hour.
