Did I word this sentence right?

  • I am writing a thank you note to the person who interviewed me at my college interview. There is a sentence I can't quite figure out how to word, so did I word it correctly? It says: It was a great chance fore me to not only learn more about XXX College, but to also narrow down my search for the perfect college for me. I don't need suggestions for a new sentence, just something doesn't seem right with the way I worded it. Is it right? Thanks!

  • Answer:

It was a great chance for me to learn more about XXX College, and it also helped me narrow my search for the college which will be perfect for me.

yeah, for is spelled wrong and that smells funny to my eyes.. try instead "It was a great opportunity to learn more about X college and narrow the search for my perfect college" or "It was a wonderful chance to learn more about X college and narrow the search for my perfect education"
