How do I see foreign characters on my computer?

Why can't I see Japanese characters on my computer?

  On your computer you can fix this problem. First, click the green start button. From there click control panel. Then you click the Date, Time Language, and Regional Options button. From there you click the Regional and Languages Options. You click on the Languages tab, and you check mark the Install Files for East Asian Languages. Click Apply, let it install, and voila! Japanese characters are shown!
