Can you work as an entry level Web Developer?

I am taking a Web Developer Certificate in a Community College. It's not an Asociate Degree. The classes include JavaScript, Java, JSP, HTML, XHTML, and CSS. Maybe something else. I just want to know if it is posible to find ANY entry level position as a Web Developer. Honestly, I don't care if it's full or part time job, whether it has to do with web development/design or not. Do you know what other kind of jobs can I get with this certificate? For example, Data entry clerk, etc. Thank you so much!

With certification, it just tells someone that you're very knowledgeable in Web Development and that you can code according to standards. What helps you get developing jobs is experience and a portfolio of past works [school projects, for example]. You should try to get your name out into the market by doing paid work. I am slowly getting better projects because I found paid internships doing web development through word of mouth. Check if your community college has a career services or internship office. They should have some kind of list of entry level / internship opportunities.

Search monster.com for "web developer" in your area. You will get a good idea what you need. I believe you meant HTML5 and CSS3. Add PHP, jQuery, SQL to your list. And get used to one or two frameworks for PHP and Javascript, and MVP or MVC development models. 3 to 5 years of experience of high traffic website with above skills, you will get paid around 90K a year plus benefits. Of course that's junior to senior level.
