• I've heard different opinions, I know it hurts more after you get it done, which i'm fine with. I'm 15, and when i'm done growing I'm pretty sure I want to get my belly pierced (: I have a low tolerance level with pain, but when i got my ears pierced twice it didn't hurt at all, I didn't even move haha. I was just wondering if I should get it, I think belly bars are so cute, I have a flat stomach and an upper lid for my belly button. If I take good care of it and clean it everyday, do you think I could tolerate the pain while it is being pierced? I'm fine if it gets infected, that kind of pain i'm ok with, just the piercing part is always a little nerve racking. Thanks!! xx

  it depends on the shape of your bellybutton! Some people get it and say it is the same as ear piercing (not very painful) but some people get it and it is excruciating. Go to a tattoo or piercing parlor that is very good and does weird piercings, they will know a lot and be able to tell you if your bellybutton is suitable. It has something to do with the nerves in that area, there are more qualifications than just having an innie bellybutton. Don't just go to a Piercing Pagoda or a parlor by the beach that will pierce anyone, because chances are they are not as expert. short answer: If you go to a good piercing parlor they will tell you if you can have the piercing. If they say it is OK, it won't hurt at all. However if you just go somewhere else there is the chance you will be in excruciating pain that can last a year (or longer if you don't remove the bellybutton ring ASAP). This happened to my sister, so be careful!
