How To Activate Office 2010?

Changing from Microsoft Office 2010 to Microsoft Office 2003.?

  • I have MicrosoftOffice 2003. I need to download microsoft 2010 for a class. If I download the free 60 day trial of Office 2010, will my Microsoft Office 2003 be overwritten after the 60 days? I just want Microsoft Office 2010 temporarily for my class. I just want to know if I will still have my Microsoft Office 2003 after the trial.

  • Answer:

For the next 60 days you will have access to both versions, you just need to pay attention to with whichever version you want to open your files with - the newer version will NOT overwrite the older one - both will be available to you even the 60 days trial period. After 60 days the 2010 will stop functioning and will ask you to purchase it - just delete it (remove the whole suite via control panel) so it won't bloat your computer and run some register cleaner such is eusing to get rid of old files. (not mandatory but cleaning a registry every now and then, tends to improve the performance of your machine). IMO 2010 Office sucks. Many add ons that work with 2003 do not work with 2010, so I too am sticking with 2003 - it's a too good of a program

If it overwrites it, it will overwrite it during the installation, not in 60 days. The only thing that's going to happen in 60 days is the free trial will end. Be very, very, very careful when you install it. Pay close attention to what it says when you install it. It may ask you something about an older version on your computer. It may ask you if you want to overwrite it or keep it. Of course you want to keep it. So be very careful and pay close attention. Read word for word what it tells you on the screen during the installation process so that you don't make a mistake. People run two versions of Office software and have no problems. Sometimes people though do have problems. I hope you don't get messed up here. Just make sure you know where your Office 2003 installation discs are because if it gets screwed up, you're going to have to reinstall it. By the way, if you have a real old computer, you won't be able to successfully run Office 2010. Thought I'd mention that since you said you have Office 2003. Office 2003 is an old program and most people who have it are running an old computer with XP on it. Just saying..
