In a job interview: What is the best answer when asked on weakness?

Job interview: Is this a Good answer to greatest Weakness?

  • Say your interview is not going good (or even bad) and you've stumbled across a few of the questions. And then your interviewer asks the common "whats your greatest weakness" question. Can you say your weakness is "being interviewed" or "doing interviews", without hurting your chances. To me it seems like it addresses the question and sort of lets you off the hook for your earlier performance. What do you guys think? Also, would this not fly for an interviewer who's "by the book"? Assuming the job doesn't require you to interview or be interviewed by people on a regular basis.

  • Answer:

    It would never fly.

Your response won't work. You are indirectly attacking the interview person. Use public speaking or organization at work as your response.
