How much should I weigh for a model?

How much would I have to weigh to model?

  • I'm around 5"8-9, (174cm, I think.) and I weigh a bit under 9 stone, about 8st11. What would I have to weigh to model? (catwalk/haute couture/ anything except glamour! I'm 14, I don't think that would be legal in the UK....) Also if you think modelling would be a good idea, how would I get started? I was offered an interview in the street once, I was stopped by a photographer, but I couldn't make the shoot, and I don't really want to have to wait for scouts to find me again! I'd rather try to get into it myself.

  • Answer:

Hey there to be a model isn't as glamorous as it sounds... but if u want to get started as one I suggest get a job in Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch. There are usually interviews in every store from Tue Thur and Fri. If they like u, you can work either as a floor model or as impact. Also they might think you are a good fit for their campaign. About ur weight if u really want to cut out as a model you should be around 8 stones. Your height isn't great but there are always exceptions and you should aim for commercial fashion rather than high end couture. Gd luck and don't forget to stay healthy and wear natural make up- designers hate it when they see models coming with their make up done. Think of it as u being the canvas and the designer the artist.

If you were serious, you'd have made the shoot. Go and see a reputable agency and get an honest opinion - but are you really willing to work hard enough...?
