Why do we see colors?

Why do I see colors like paint being thrown in the air, right before an apparition appears.?

• I was laying down in my bed and I felt very uneasy. As I was staring into the darkness I began to see colors all over the room. I closed my eyes and reopened them to see a black shadow of what looked like a female ghost standing over me and watching me. I freaked out and looked away for a split second to get out of my bed but when I looked back and she was gone. This happened a second time when I was a friends house and I had my girlfriend laying next to me. I was the last one to fall asleep and felt uneasy when I began to see the colors. Remembering what happened the last time I quickly closed my eyes and rolled over facing my girlfriend who woke up from me moving and sat up and began to try and grab something in the air. I told her there was nothing there but she said there was and continued to try and grab at it. I had her close her eyes and when she opened them it was gone. The next morning she told me she saw a glass sythe like object just standing up behind me.

  spirits have to gather energies from the environment in order to manifest themselves. what your seeing is the concentrated form of these energies (before they are used by the being to create the image it desires.) As for the sythe don't worry about it. It's scary, but just because there's a spirit with you is no reason to fear it. If you believe the spirit to be against you then you can tell it sternly to leave.
