Computer keeps freezing?

Computer keeps randomly freezing?

  • I have had the computer for two years and I have windows 7. My computer keeps freezing, it only started a while ago and is starting to happen a lot more frequently. Sometimes the monitor flickers and then freezes. Also audio continues on for a couple of seconds after it freezes. How can I stop my computer freezing, as I have to restart it every single time. Thanks for any help

  • Answer:

sounds like it could be a RAM problem your computer probably needs more RAM to work

Easy. Not nuff RAM. As you use yer pooter, more 'Startup' crap is placed in the 'Startup' folder, thereby using up more RAM when booting up. How to fix: Clear the items in the Statup folder to use a minimum of useless 'crap' in it. Use: msconfig in the run line off the Start button. Clear the Xs in the boxes (that will be most of them. Click 'Apply'. Click 'OK'. Reboot. Smile. or: Install more physical RAM on your motherboard (same type and speed), if possible. or: Do both.

Your system is probably overheating because dust is blocking the cooling fans and vents. Get a can of compressed air and thoroughly clean out your case. Overheating is the main cause of systems freezing. ..
